Suunto and Salomon sponsored prizes in the Everest Marathon 2016

The 14th edition of the marathon was organized successfully on May 29. The event which was dedicated to bicentenary of Birtan-Nepal relationship was attended by British Ambassador Mr. Richard Morris who ran a symbolic distance of 8,848m in the event. The event had a total of three categories:

  • The Everest marathon (full): 42.8 KM
  • The Everest ultra-Marathon: 60KM
  • The Everest Half- marathon: 21KM

Everest Marathon winners received exciting prizes sponsored by SUUNTO and SALOMON. The following prizes were distributed to the winners.

Prizes for the ultra-runners (60k):

  • 1st: SUUNTO (AMBIT3 BLACK HR)
  • 2nd: SUUNTO (TRAVERSE)
  • 3rd: SALOMON (SPEEDCROSS 3 SHOES)

Prize for male and female full marathon (40k) runners:

  • 1st: XA PRO 3D (SALOMON)
  • 2nd: SPEEDCROSS 3 (SALOMON)
  • 3rd: SENSE MANTRA 2 (SALOMON)

Full Marathon(42K) Males

  • Bed Bahadur Sunwar (4 hrs 10 sec): “I really needed a nice pair of running shoes after running through the Everest Marathon. Thankfully, I now have a comfortable pair of shoes and hopefully, I can run faster.”
  • Bhim Bahadur Gurung (4 hrs 3 min 14 sec): “The shoes are very comfortable, much better than the ones I used to wear.”

Full Marathon(42K) Females

  • Purnamaya Rai ( 5 hrs 24 min 00 sec hrs): “Running is much easier with these shoes, better grip and much more comfortable.”
  • Nirkala Kulung (5 hrs 38 min   01 sec hrs): “The shoes are a pleasure to my feet. Now, my feet are less sore after a run.”

Everest Ultra (62K)

  • Tirtha Bahadur Tamang(6 hrs 36 min 13 sec): “ The Suunto watch is simply extraordinary, now I can run and monitor my heart rate on the go and stay connected through the smart watch. A must have watch for trail runners. “
  • Purna Tamang(6 hrs 45 min 05 sec): “ With GPS tracking and storm alarms, I am well protected. Thanks to the watch I won through Everest Marathon.”
