Lumbini is located in Terai belt of Nepal which is relatively hotter than other parts. Hence, the marathon is scheduled in March during the spring.
Lumbini is relatively hotter than Kathmandu and Pokhara. The average temperature in Lumbini in March reaches 35.72c during the day and 23.8c during the night while the day temperature in Kathmandu and Pokhara reaches 26.72c and 21.5c respectively.
Almost all days in March is sunny, there is very low probability of clouds or gloomy days. Rain is quiet unlikely but one should be prepared and check weather forecasts accordingly.
The Marathon will be cut off 8hrs from the starting time.
The course is quiet flat and on tarmac surface. Hence, the route is easy and straightforward.
The marathon is categorised in three distances:
Each category has certain age limits.
A number of certified medical doctors will be providing medical support at the marathon along with a support vehicle sweeping behind the runners.
Participants will receive Certificates and participation medals at the Closing ceremony of the event.
Officials from Adventure Sports Nepal are in charge of the event. Decisions made by Marshalls regarding timings are final.
