International Flight
Nepal consists of three international airports, but the main operation is from Tribhuvan International Airport, located in Kathmandu. International participants will receive a visa upon arrival in Nepal.
Entry Procedure
All visitors except the Indian nationals must hold a passport and a valid visa. The visas can be obtained at the Nepalese Diplomatic Missions and Consulates abroad, and entry points issue visa for visitors. The visa will be extended at the Department of Immigration. Entry: A visa is necessary to enter Nepal and can be obtained for the following duration from any Royal Nepalese Embassy or Consulate or at the entry points in Nepal.
- The single-entry tourist visa can be obtained from the entry points of Nepal or from the Royal Nepalese diplomatic missions abroad by paying US$30 for 60 days.
- If the visitor, who has already visited Nepal under a tourist visa, intends to come again within 15 days of the same visa year, he/she can obtain an entry visa at the entry points or at the Royal Nepalese diplomatic missions abroad.
- Visitors who wish to stay for more than 60 days in Nepal can extend their tourist visa by paying the equivalent of US$50 in the Nepalese currency for 30 days from the Department of Immigration.
- A business visa with multiple entry facilities can be obtained from the Department of Immigration on the recommendation of the Ministry by paying the equivalent of US$50 in the Nepalese currency for the foreign investors.

- By Air: Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu
- Getting to Lumbini: By Domestic Flight: A domestic airport is located at Bhairahawa, which is 16 km away from Lumbini. A 35-minute flight from Kathmandu will take you to Bhairahawa, from where a local bus can be taken to Lumbini.
- By Road: Lumbini is accessible by road from both Nepal and India. From Indian cities such as Gorakhpur and Varanasi, a bus can be caught to reach Sunauli/Behaliya (India-Nepal border), from where Lumbini is about an hour's ride. Additionally, buses from Kathmandu and Pokhara leave for Lumbini every day.

- Lumbini Garden Lodge (NRs. 1200-1500 ) Situated in the main bazaar, east of the main gate, at just about a 1-minute walk. The Mayadevi Temple is just a 10-minute walk from this hotel. The rooms at Lumbini Garden Lodge are big and nice with attached baths and shared baths as well, with WIFI connectivity. It is peaceful to sit on the balcony and get the view of Lumbini Bazaar. - Korean Monastery: Sleep in a dorm for NRs. 500, including 3 meals a day; No smoking, music, dancing, card games, etc.
- Sri Lankan Pilgrims’ Rest House, about a 15- to 20-minute walk from the main site. Dormitory beds costing around NRs. 500 per night, and private rooms are priced from approximately NRs. 1600 to NRs. 3200 per night.

Tourist buses to Pokhara are available for NRs. 1500. You can buy them directly at the bus stop or in your hotel.
Tourist buses to Kathmandu are available for NRs. 1500 to NRs. 2500; prices can vary based on the bus type (e.g., deluxe vs. VIP luxury sofa bus) and the operator, with VIP options.
